Patti Miller has been presenting Talks, Readings and Seminars since the 1980s. She gives talks and seminars on a diverse rang of topics in the area of Memoir, including: Identity and Belonging in Memoir, The Difficulties of Truth Telling; Finding Inspiration; Overcoming Procrastination; Restoring Your Creativity; The Doors to Memory; The Dangerous Borderlands – memoir and fiction; Motherhood and Writing; Autobiography and the Artist’s Self Portrait; Myths, Miracles and Creativity; Nature Writing; Travel Memoir.
She gives talks on French literary topics (in English): Writing In Paris; French Memoirists; and an Introduction to French Literature.
She has given talks and seminars at the NSW State Library, the Wheeler Centre Victoria; The Red Wheelbarrow Bookshop, Café de la Mairie and Shakespeare & Co Bookshop in Paris; Soirée Litteraire in Sydney, Alliance Français in Melbourne and Sydney; UQP Literary Dinner Brisbane; the Lyceum Club in Melbourne and Sydney; Bar Luna, Bali; the NSW Genealogical Society; numerous libraries and bookshops throughout country NSW and Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne; the Society of Women Writers, Sydney. She has appeared at Writers Festivals in Sydney, Adelaide, Newcastle, Shepparton, Byron Bay, Blue Mountains, Bendigo; Geelong, Bellingen, Mudgee and Darwin.

Judging
Patti judged the NSW Premier’s Awards Non-Fiction in 2014, 2015; the Russell Prize in 2017; and the Society of Women Writers Writing Competition in 1997. She has been the judge for the Varuna/Creative Cultures Regional Writing Competition 1994 and for Varuna Fellowship Assessments from 1993 to 1996, And for writing competitions for the U.T.S Short Story Competition in 1993, 94, 95.
